31 Days!!

Oh. My. God. Can you believe it??? In exactly one month's time (to the second) we will be just about to get on a plane to go to America. Oh. My. God. We've made it this far, and it still doesn't seem real.

Today's silly question (as of now, from when I said above, which was 3:10 pm) what will be going on in your head in a months time. exactly.

Thanks for those people yesterday who mentioned my blog in passing to me. I actually didn't mean for it to be that long, but I spose it just shows how easy it is to relate my thoughts about this trip now. =]]

2 tips today:

Bring a calculator. Or a phone which has a calculator. When shopping you will need to know the conversion rate. For example, if you were to buy a piece of chewing gum over there, and it cost $500 US you would divide it by the conversion rate (i.e. .065) then times it by 1. That means that in Australian cash you would pay $769. Not worth it for a piece of chewy, if you ask me. You just need to know whether you're saving money by buying it over there, or whether you should wait and shop when you come back.

Another tip is whilst in hosting see if your host will organise (or help you to) for you to send some of you purchases home. That way, you'll have more room in your suitcase for other purchases.

Now, I promised to include a list of suitable gift ideas for your host. Some great ideas would be some Australian foods (they love Tim tams), maybe a souvenir from somewhere in Australia (like a shirt or mug from sea world). These are probably the best ideas, but you can always just ask your host if they want anything from over here. Already, I have bought my host something from Tiger Island at Dreamworld. You could also bring over stuff like home-made hand towels or something. if you guys have any other ideas, let me know. Also, to those still host less, I apologise for boring you and I'm sorry you still don't have a host. =[ Let me know when you do. =]
