Alright, so I'm going to start off today's entry by apologising to you all. I have been leading you on. Every single day (i think) so far has been out by 2 days. I'm very sorry. and thankyou to Aaron for pointing out that maybe i'm not so good at maths after all. =]
Anyway, I'm sure you've all been watching the news intently, watching the exchange rate fall and fall and fall. So, currently at 5:41 pm the exhange rate thing is $AU1 is equal to 0.6531 $US. Not as good as it was about 1 month ago, close to $US 1. But oh well.
I'm sure you guys have got your bills by now, and are shocked to see the increase in the prices, by at least $600, more than $500 of it going to taxes!!
A lot of you have been in contact with your host families, while a lot more of us are worried that we'll have to sleep on the side of the road. We'll get a feel for the city that way, won't we.
And, I have confirmation from our very own commerce teacher that qantas will not be shutting down after they get sued for that airplane crashed I mentioned in my last blog. And, I also heard from a friend that maybe we might get to test out the airbus, so that we all fit. I'm not too sure though, so don't worry too much.
Hopefully for us, tomorrow will bring better news on the exchange rate.
We have various ways to take money to america - travellers cheques, travellers cards, cash (not advisable), debit cards, credit cards, and finally we have offshore accounts. That is, an account managed overseas. So, for us that would be America. I'm pretty sure the most favourable choice would be the travellers card, but it's upto you. I'm pretty sure I'm taking a debit card, and just get mum to flush through a couple $100 bucks every few days. lol.
That's all for today. Sweet dreams.
