79 Days!

Again, we somehow manage to get closer to the departure date every time we fall asleep.

Now, today I have something special for you. I managed to get some guest appearances for the next few days. Unfortunately, I haven't arranged music as yet.

The first guest appearance is from one of our school mates - Emily Burton.

"Hi Emily, thanks for being with us today. I hear you've been to America?"

"Yes I have"

"How different was America to here?"

"Everyone had a funny accent but after a while you don't notice it, and they have totally different food. It's extremely hard to get vegetables over there"

"Where did you go in America?"

"LA, Anaheim, San Diego, San Fransisco, Mexico, Las Vegas and Hawaii"

"Tell us, compared to the Sydney Harbour bridge, how big is the bridge in San Francisco?"

"Its massive. The pillars that hold it up are about, 1 1/2 to 2 car lengths wide. Its amazing.

"Wow. that sounds really big. Anything else we need to expect when we get over there?"

"Be prepared to be asked about Australia, they find us fascinating. They kept asking me whether we had kangaroos hopping down the road. Oh and be careful where you eat, some places are a bit dodgy."

"But its such a great place."

"Do you have any other tips for my readers? Stuff to bring on the plane . . .anything?"

"The plane ride takes forever. So don't forget stuff to do. And don't spend all your money in one place. There's lots of great places to see and stuff to buy. Say for your friends."

"Thank you very much Emily. You were a pleasure to talk to."

"It was great"

So that was our first guest on the . . . uh blog. =] Anyway, back onto serious matters.

The Aus $ rose to 70 US c at 5:23pm. Which is good, if you hadn't worked it out already.

It's nearly Wednesday, so that doesn't give you much time to rob a bank, but I'm sure you'll think of something.

Today's review is of the Space Needle. Since we are apparently already visiting it, I will also include a review of Safeco field.

""10 seconds: see the sparkling waters of Puget Sound. 20 seconds: Mt. Rainier becomes a huge snow cone. 30 seconds: skyscrapers appear like giant Lego's. 41 seconds: you're up saying "Ohhhhhhhh" on the O Deck. Get your pointing finger ready! Every degree of the O Deck’s 360-degree view commands your attention. Snow-capped Mt. Rainier to the south and the Cascade Mountains to the east, the majestic Olympics to the west.
You just can’t hide from this view. Float planes land below you on sparkling Lake Union. Ferries, cruise lines and cargo ships cross Elliott Bay. The city streets are abuzz with activity. This is a major city opening up before your very eyes.
Want to get closer to the action from your perch? No problem. Our complimentary Swarovski Telescopes magically empower you to spot a friend in the stands buying a hot dog a couple of miles away at Safeco Field, home of the Seattle Mariners baseball team.
You don’t have to guess what you’re looking at. We’ve got all the answers and so will you. Colorful, imaginative environmental graphics around the outer edge of the level, and the informative displays along the interior contain more descriptive data and trivia than one can hold in a single head.
You will even find a surprise or two. Sorry, no hints. You’ll smile even bigger when you find them.""

And of Safeco Field:

""Safeco Field, sometimes referred to as Safeco or The Safe, is a retractable roof baseball stadium located in Seattle, Washington, USA. It is the home stadium of the Seattle Mariners Major League Baseball club, seating 47,116 for baseball.""

That definitely sounds cool, but if you don't like baseball, don't bother.

Also, closer to our departure date I will include stuff like - what to do on the plane, activities the airline has to offer, seating (where they are. I promise not allocate you guys to sit next to me, unless you really want to.), what to bring on the plane, meals (if we get any), time difference. I will also include other stuff, but we'll worry about that as we get closer.

Also, for those of you who are down in brain cells, we are leaving on the 7th of January and return on the 26th of January. We leave here on the 7th and get there on the 7th. We leave there on the 24th and get here on the 26th. So we lose a day.

So now, I bid you adieu. Or au revoir. or, in American, Goodbye!
