This is officially the very last post. Ever.
I'm sure everyone is finally over their jetlag and is starting to wonder when the next school holidays are.
If anyone has photos they want to share Mr. D is having a meeting sometime next week (i think) for that to occur.
I had a great time in the USA, and I wanted to thank everyone for that experience. I woujldn't have chosen anyone else to go through it with. It was exactly as I thought it would be, if not more.
Hopefully the bonds we created over the crabby plane food, and telling stories of clogging toilets will remain in place for a while to come.
Thanks for reading this everyday.
Goodnight my kittens.

11 Hours Til The Bus - 18 Hours Til The Flight
So . . . This will probably be the last blog sent before we go. We'll all be too busy in the morning to check our emails then, and so I'll see you all in the morning, 9:20 sharp. Don't be late.
Remember, that is at Energy Australia. Not, well, wherever else you thought it might be.
I can't wait til we leave, and I hope I'm not the only one who doesn't sleep well tonight.
Night kittens,
See you in 11 hours, and counting.
Love Amanda
PS If you need anything, just text, email or ring me. You know where to find me.

Less Than 24 Hours
Hey guys!!!
I had planned to post this about half an hour ago, but I had a bit of a disaster with my luggage, and then my bedroom blew up and I had to tidy it. lol. Anyway, so that makes this post just in time for the 24 hours until we leave the airport. Not til we meet up, which is what today's earlier post was about.
Thanks to Alex and Aaron for attempting to answer my question yesterday aboiut the flight times. Alex said that the flight on the way home is longer due to wind patterns im pretty sure there is like a stronger head wind on the way back.
Both her and Aaron also caught me out, and I admit, it was rather dumb of me. We fly into San Fran, but out of LA, so therefore there is a logical reason either way as to why it's longer.
Currently, the AUS $ is sitting at 71 US cents. Down from this morning, but that doesn't matter, cause most smart people will have already bought theirs.
Tip for packing - any leqads you pack, do not pack together (as in piled on top of clothing). I don't know why, but space them throughout your suitcase. Also, remember you are only allowed 7kg carry on luggage and 22kg in your suitcase. They usually don't check yopur carry on weight, so if it is really heavy, make it look light so that they don't actually check and it is over.
I'll post in a few more hours with more tips, until then, keep on packing

1 Day
Technically, I should leave this post for a few more hours, but I have time right now (6 am. I couldn't sleep) so I thought I would knock it off today's list.
Since I posted the blog late last night (my apologies) and am posting so early today, there is really no chance that anyone has replied to my random question. And if someone had, i'd find that particularly funny. If anyone answers between now and well, then, no doubt I will post at a later date. Or hour. whatever.
So, after rounding, the AUS$ is sitting at 72 US cents. Up from yesterday, but banks and post offices will still only pay out the 71 cents I believe. Although if you haven't bought your money by today, i'd be just a bit worried. I mean, last minute packing is bad enough, but seriously.
I am planning to post again at different intervals with tips and things to not do etc etc, so watch out for them.
Also, I'd like to make a correction on the email Mr. D sent out on Saturday. He claimed we'd be in a plane, or sitting, for 22 hours. The flight over only 13 hours and 30 mins and the flight back is 14 hours and 35 minutes. If someone can explain why the return trip is 55 minutes longer, that'd be great. I'd like to thank Aaron for these numbers, they were awaiting me in my inbox when I returned from my holiday yesterday.
Anyway, i'll be back in a few hours,
Take care,
Fun packing!

2 Days
Oh. My. God. 2. Days. OMG!!!!
Yes, yes, I'm back. I wasn't dead, and you all knew I was going away so hopefully no one thought I was dead. I'm so happy to be back. I couldn't sleep all last night from excitement, and although I'm ultra tired right now, I doubt I'll sleep again tonight. I went and bought a new handbag and a carry on bag today. A new handbag cause you need one with a zipper!!!!!!! You don't need to have all of your money stolen by a pickpocket (they are very well . . .trained (?) over there). Carry on bag is gorgeous, and feel free to steal a glance in approximately 36 hours, when we will be on the bus, awaiting departure.
So, again, I'd like to thank Prue and tracey, but considering prue got other people to fill in for her, and forgot to put in the exchange rate, tracey deserves more of a thankyou. No offence poodle. You guys did great.
Now, back onto what is normally included in my posts -
The exchange rate is sitting at 71 US cents. Pretty much the same from what I can see over the last few posts. I went and bought my travellers cheques and put money onto my travellex card today, and I have no money left is AUS $'s. I may have $3 in silver coins, I just don't have the patience to look. lol.
Random question for today - what has been going on in your head about America, does it seem more real to you? And am I the only one who's stomach kinda starts churning when you think about it (not necessarily from sickness, maybe nerves)? Let me know.
I think thats all for tonight. I have to re-write my shopping list, unpack from camping and re pack for america. Should be fun. Just wait til you see what I have to do tomorrow.
Love you all lots
Amanda

3 days!
Sorry i'm posting this so late (by my standards, not by other ppl's aka amanda or prue) but i went to sydney today and let me tell u: NEVER get in the same cabin as 4 screaming children under 5. because u'll just end up with a migraine.
anyway... mr d sent us all a email last night i think... anyway basically if u're not irene, didi, lashan, jack then u have a host. if u ARE irene, didi, lashan or jack, mr d still don't know ur hosting details. which means u'll probably be staying at a hotel with sleep number beds... or not. i honestly have no idea.
dont tell the ppl at the airport that u have a bomb. or a citrus fruit. or whatever, because everything is taken seriously there (as we have heard a gazillion times) don't be late and etc. i personally haven't started packing yet, mainly because it doesn't take 3 days to pack, it takes less than 3 hours.
a word of advice (actually more of logic): if u're not gonna use it, don't pack it. take only whats necessary. u don't REALLY need that extra shirt do u? or those shoes that look great but would be a) uncomfortable b) unable to be wore due to the extreme coldness or that laptop (with the exception of didi of course) but yeah. its ur funeral.
no conversion rate today(because i can't be bothered), if u still haven't converted ur money and u need to, its probably to late. Now imagine this... in 3 days time, u won't be sleeping in ur comfy and familiar bed. u'll be sleeping in a comfier but less familier hotel next ur friend (or a total stranger, but probably not) and well be suffering from jet lag. isn't that... amazing? and u won't be in australia. but yeah, 3 days! OMG!
and... last post by someone who isn't amanda! remember to buy ur hosts pressies, their putting up with u for free. and timtams.
goodnight!
tracey^^
(see u at the marathon stadium at 9.20am!)

4 days!
im so sorry everyone that i forgot.. or couldnt be bothered to write the blog the other day. i realize that so many of you must have been worried to the heart of your bottom. but eh, maybe im not the best person to put in charge if the blog.
Now, im sorry that this is coming to you a little late, and so technically its 3 days till we go, though ill still pretend that its 4 days, well, 11 minutes it was.
ive done most of my packing now, and my suitcase it pretty much full. this is not the way to go. now i have to cull half the clothes so that ill have room to shop!
remember, that the clothes you buy over there can be worn over there, so you wont need as much clothes. . depending on if your like me and a huge shopper.
also, remember some of the essential things such as undies, toothbrush, and power adapters!
it may be an idea, if you have a lot of electronic items such as chargers and stuff, to bring alonga n australian power board. So, you will be able to charge your ipod at the same time as straightening your hair. haha. without having to have heaps of adapters.
Anywho, im sure your all starting to get excited now. its really happening.
and its going to be amamzing!
love for all.
